The UK Press Association reports that a cleaning firm will be set up as a social enterprise business – All Cleaned Up aiming at helping offenders get back to normal life.
Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill will officially launch the cleaning business. The new cleaning company is a venture of Charity Apex Scotland with 25 years in the social studies working with ex-offenders.
All Cleaned Up cleaning company will provide cleaning and rubbish removal services to commercial and industrial clients. The enterprise is set up to be the future employer of offenders leaving prison, suited for performing such a job. The recruits will be trained. There are places specially reserved for community payback order completion for low-level offenders.
The firm is located in Leith, Edinburg, it has been providing services to clients for the past month. Mr MacAskill will lauch the business formally.
The Justice Secretary said, as cited by UK Press Association, UK Press Association, that all recruits will gain “valuable work experience while making a positive contribution to the environment in their communities at the same time.”
Brian Robertson-Fern, operations manager at All Cleaned Up said he was delighted and pleased with the success of his company.
