If you have a Facebook page of your business and your likes have dropped significantly these days, do not panic. The reason for this is because Facebook makes fall cleaning of fake profiles.
The company announced yesterday that they are determined to delete all profiles which violate their terms. This means that all fake profiles are going to be removed. What made them do that, most of you may ask. Facebook revealed that there has been a significant boost of likes for the last month and those were likes made from fake or duplicate accounts.
The company statement was that “A Like that doesn’t come from someone truly interested in connecting with a Page benefits no one. Real identity, for both users and brands on Facebook, is important to not only Facebook’s mission of helping the world share, but also the need for people and customers to authentically connect to the Pages they care about.” They also said that there is nothing to worry about because the likes of a page will drop with approximately 1%. The page that lost the highest percentage of its “fans” is Texas HoldEm Poker.
As a conclusion I can only say that Facebook is cleaning its house and it is a good example for us to do the same. You can either clean your FB friends or your house – it is up to you. The most important is that you will feel better afterwards. For more information, check here: http://www.webpronews.com/losing-likes-on-your-page-dont-worry-its-just-facebook-cleaning-house-2012-09
