Most Polluted Areas in Wiltshire – Near Shops and Post Offices

Rubbish clean up in WiltshireBrian Cavill, a 76-year-old pensioner from Ridge Nether Moor, Swindon, Wiltshire, has been cleaning up litter in Liden for several weeks. He is cleaning the community by picking up litter regularly. Brian has been cleaning up the local area for about a month now, dealing with all kinds of strange items dumped such as car tyres, drinks cans, plastic bottles.

Brian is part of the litter picking Mere Group. He reveals that he is appalled by the current state of the local area and the worst places to clean in his opinion are near local shops and post offices. People allegedly continue to dispose of their trash irresponsibly, dumping rubbish on the ground despite the trash bins near by.

Brian recommends a website for reporting rubbish problems and polluted areas called Fix My Street. Locations reported on the site get cleaned in a few days. Brian has already collected about 17 bags of trash during his cleaning up in Liden.

Another important issue according to Brian is educating young people to dispose of rubbish in the correct manner. Raising environmental awareness is crucial, as the local community authorities are doing their best to handle the rubbish produced daily, but it is everyone’s responsibility to keep their living area clean.
